HealthInsite Personal Profile
To get the most benefit from HealthInsite you can create a personal profile, so you will be able to save HealthInsite topic pages of particular interest to find more easily in your personal navigation bar and have search results matched to your needs.
Why create a profile?
If you enrol with HealthInsite , you will be able to choose to logon whenever you visit, using the logon button in the top right hand corner of your screen. When you are logged on, you will be able to:
- save HealthInsite pages to your 'personal selections' list, using the 'save' button that will appear at the bottom of each HealthInsite topic page. Your saved HealthInsite pages will appear in your personal navigation bar on the right hand side of the HealthInsite screen, so you can easily find them.
- receive an email telling you when there have been any major changes to your saved HealthInsite pages, by including your email address in your user profile and selecting the 'notify me of changes' option whenever you save a favourite page to your profile (see above)
- have your preferred types of information displayed first in your HealthInsite search results, by including your information preferences in your user profile, and/or
- see a results list for an automatic search for items matching your area of interest when you click on the 'My Interest' link in the "personal selections" navigation bar that appears on the right hand side of the screen when you are logged on. To have a 'My Interest' search created for you, type the details of your area of interest in the box on the personal profile page. You can have one search created for each profile and you should allow a few days for the search to be created before checking to see the results for the first time.
How to create a profile
You only need to Enrol with HealthInsite once. Then each time you visit HealthInsite you can simply Logon to the site using your Username and Password.
Enrolling is simple. Click on the enrol button at the bottom of this page and fill in the form. Only the first four fields are mandatory. The other fields are optional, but providing information will help us to tailor information better for your needs. For example, your email address can be used to notify you when your preferred pages have been updated.
After you have filled in and submitted the form, you will be automatically logged on with a new 'personal selections' right hand navigation bar to display your favourite HealthInsite pages and 'save' buttons appearing on each HealthInsite page. On future visits, just click on the 'logon' button at the top left of the screen to have HealthInsite show your 'personal selections' navigation bar.
If you have included your preferences for the type of information you prefer, all your search results will be automatically filtered to match them. You will still have the option to see unfiltered results for any search by clicking on that option on the search results page.
Privacy
Any information collected as part of your personal profile will be used only for the purposes of HealthInsite's personalisation functions, and will not be used for any other purpose or passed to any other organisation. For further information see HealthInsite Privacy Statement
You must provide a Username. This does not need to be your real name and can be any nickname you would like HealthInsite to know you by. If you select a Username that is already in use, you will be asked to try again.
You must provide a Password (and repeat it to confirm correct entry). This is to ensure privacy for your personal preferences and will be required whenever you logon to HealthInsite . You must also provide a 'hint' for your password in case you need our help to remind you what your password is.
